Overview:

Our guided trip of Morocco will begin in Tangier and go on for 11 Days days tour from Tangier, during which time we will visit a variety of towns and places around Morocco. In point of fact, the route for the 11-day trip will take travelers to the Roman remains in Volubilis, Meknes, Fes, Midelt, Erfoud, Rissani, the Merzouga Desert, and Marrakech through Rissani Souk, Todra canyon, Dades gorge, and Ait Ben Haddou. 

In addition, there will be a day trip to Essaouira, which will be followed by a day trip to Marrakech before we return there to wrap up our itinerary. Both of these day trips will be led by a local guide.

On our tour of Morocco, which begins in Tangier, you'll get to see the beautiful country and learn about its fascinating history. Our expert guides will take you on an exciting journey around the city and out to the Atlantic shoreline. If you stick to our well laid out itinerary, you will experience everything that makes Morocco so unique.

Day 1: From Tangier To Chefchaouen

Following your exploration of Tangier on the first day of this 11-day trip, you will be transferred to the airport or port, and then you will continue on to Chefchaouen. After that, we will spend the night at a Riad that is located right in the middle of Chefchaouen.

ITINERARY

Day 2:Full Day in Chefchaouen

​The 11-day Tangier to Desert and Marrakech Tour will begin its second day with a comprehensive visit to Chefchaouen, a tiny town located in the northwest of Morocco that is most renowned for its brilliant blue walls. There is some debate on where the color blue originated; nevertheless, it is believed that a mixture of cultural and religious factors were responsible. 
When vacationers come to Chefchaouen, they will discover a laid-back attitude and plenty of possibilities to explore the rural landscape that surrounds the city. The second day of the tour will come to a close with a stay in a cozy riad or hotel, followed by a satisfying meal.

Day 3: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

We will depart Chefchaouen for Fes, the royal city, after breakfast today. The route today includes a stop at Ouazzane. We'll stop at Volubilis, a Roman outpost south of Morocco, to see the remains and marvel at the mosaic floors that once adorned the imperial homes.
The next destination is in Meknes, where we will see the largest gate in Morocco (Bab El Mansour) as well as the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail and the Sahrij Souani. Lunch will be in a restaurant close to "the square of El Hedim" in Meknes, where you will also have the chance to explore. The next day, we'll go back to Fes and check into our hotel (or riad) for the night.

Day 4: Full-day trip to explore the city of Fes

​The day begins with a visit of the Medina, one of the biggest walled Medinas in the world. We're going to check out the little alleyways stocked with fruit, spices, Berber carpets, and other handicrafts. We'll go to a few mosques, such the Mosque Quaraouiyine (built in 859) and the Mosque of Andalusia.
We will next go to the city's origins, exploring places like the Nejjarine Fountain, madrassas (Koranic schools), the Batha (Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts), and the tanneries and souks, such as the blue and green ceramic-filled Souk Attarine Bab Boujloud. The entrance to the Royal Palace is another destination. Your full-day tour of Fes begins with a visit to the city's renowned ceramics workshop, and it concludes with breathtaking views across the city's historic Medina. Stay in a riad or hotel in the Fes Medina for the night.

Day 5: Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

Leaving Fes today, we'll pass through Ifrane (a French-built ski town that was modeled after Switzerland) on our way to the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we'll spend the better part of the morning marveling at the region's stunning natural beauty.
After that, we'll have lunch in Midelt, a town well-known for its fossils. We'll keep going until we've cross
ed Tizi N'Taghamt and are driving through the beautiful Ziz valley, at which point we'll pull over so you can take in the scenery. We'll keep on our way to the Merzouga desert later. Spend the night at a Merzouga hotel or riad.

Day 6: Sahara sightseeing - Camel ride - Desert camp

​Erg Chebbi's sand dunes and town are explored nowadays. After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Sahara desert nomads who still live in Berber tents and sip tea with them. We'll then visit Khamilia, a Gnaoua hamlet, to witness their music and culture. Lunch with black folks.
Later, we leave the car in Merzouga and camel trek over the Erg Chebbi desert's high dunes. We'll watch the sunset from a high dune before returning to your desert tent for the night. After a fantastic supper, listen to local nomads perform Berber music beneath the stars and dance to barbaric music.

15 DAYS TOUR FROM CASABLANCA  TO MARRAKECH VIA SAHARA DESERT

Day 7: Merzouga Desert - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges

​After breakfast. We'll leave the vast desert and go to Rissani, a former Saharan caravan station, where we can explore the region's biggest souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Erfoud—fossil town—will be our stop.
After driving via Jorf, Tinjdad, Ait Aissa Ou Brahim, and Todra valley, a lush valley surrounded by mud settlements and mountains, we proceed to Dades valley. Todra gorges, a tiny vertical canyon with 300m-high cliffs on either side, are a climbing attraction.
Valley-view lunch. After lunch, we'll visit Dades Valley to witness the stunning sand castles, "monkey toes" rock formations, and exquisite mud kasbahs. Stay in a valley-view hotel or riad.

Day 8: Dades Gorges - Boutaghrar - Kalaat M'Gouna - Skoura - Ouarzazate

Leaving Dades Valley today, we'll travel via Boutaghrar, Roses Valley, and Skoura on our way to Ouarzazate. We leave the main road and go to Boutaghrar, where we'll find a trail that ultimately leads to a community of cave-dwelling nomads. The next stop is at Kalaat M'Gouna (Roses Town), where the trip will continue. Each year in May, the town has a festival. Then we travel to Skoura, where some of the most stunning kasbahs in all of Morocco can be found, including the Kasbah of Amridil, which dates back to the 17th century. Then go out for lunch and explore the city. Then we get on the road and head for Ouarzazate through the Skoura oases. Spend the night in a hotel or riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 9: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Hddou - Tizi N'Tishka - Essaouira

​After breakfast, we go north to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco's most famous and photographed Kasbah. The best-preserved Kasbah in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheltering Sky, and Gladiator were filmed there. The Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, Morocco's highest at 2260m (7417ft), crosses the Atlas Mountains. The countryside and Berber communities are stunning. We arrive at Essaouira late afternoon and stay in a riad or hostel.

Day 10: Essaouira - Chichaoua - Marrakech

We'll be leaving Essaouira in the morning and heading towards Marrakech (the gem of the South), and as this is Argan tree country, we may see many of goats up in the trees munching on Argan nuts and leaves. We may also go to an Argan oil women's cooperative, where you can find out all the ways this oil can be used, from cooking to beauty to health. We expect to arrive in Marrakech about midday. After that, you're free to unwind at your hotel or go out into the bustling Jamaa El-Fna Square, where dancers and snake charmers await. After that, you'll go to a riad or hotel not far from Jamaa El-Fna Square for the night.

Day 11: Marrakech or Casablanca - Transfer to the Airport

As we reach the final day of our 11 day tour beginning in Casablanca, our driver will take you to either the airport in Marrakech or the airport in Casablanca. The end of our services for the 11-day Morocco vacation that started in Casablanca and ended in Marrakech through the desert of Merzouga.
